RANGPUR: People from all walks of life here yesterday expressed satisfaction over execution of infamous Al-Badr Chief and Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Matiur Rahman Nizami on charges of crimes against humanity, reports BSS.
They termed execution of Nizami as a glaring example of establishing rule of law and justice and demanded for completion war crimes trial and execution of all war criminals, Razakars, Al-Bards to completely free the nation from the shame. They nation has started becoming free from the stigma through execution of infamous war criminal Nizami after Ali Ahsan Mojaheed, Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury, Kamaruzzaman and Quader Mollah on its way to build a war criminal free Bangladesh, they said.
In their reactions over last night’s execution of top war criminal Nizami, the common people expressed satisfaction saying that the nation has been passing through a historical reality to permanently establish true spirit of the War of Liberation. City Mayor valiant freedom fighter Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu hailed execution of Nizami, mastermind of killing of the intellectuals, and termed the execution as most important to reflect the long-cherished hopes and aspirations of the people.
Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University Professor Dr AKM Nurun Nabi expressed satisfaction over execution of Al-Badr Chief and Jamaat Ameer Nizami for committing crimes against humanity to fulfill expectation of the whole nation. “The nation would definitely become free from the stigma as the war crimes trial will continue to ensure exemplary punishment for war criminals to build a Bangladesh free from anti-liberations forces, razakars, al-badrs and al-shams,” he said.
