Fire burns jute in Jamalpur

A devastating fire gutted huge quantity of jute at a godown in Chapatola ghat in the town recently. Fire service office sources said the fire originated from a lightning during torrential rain at around 11:03 am. The fire burnt jute stored at the godown of businessmen Md Amjad Hossain. Being informed, five units of fire service and civil defence of which 3 units from Jamalpur, one unit each from Sarishabari upazila and Melandaha upazila of the district rushed to the spot and doused the flame at around 3 pm. Fire service sources said the damage could not be ascertained
