Schoolboy drowns

A schoolboy drowned in a pond of Teachers Training College (TTC) of the town while collecting a football from the pond on Saturday afternoon. The victim was identified as Istiaq Ahmed Ishan, 15, son of Tozammel Haque of town’s Akua Madrasa Quarter area. Ishan was a class X student of Nasirabad Collegiate School. Quoting Ishan’s friends and local people, Md Kamrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali police station said Ishan went out of his residence in the afternoon to attend his coaching classes.
