Himadri Shekhor Talukder and Shimu Dey enthralled the audience by rendering Tagore’s songs at a Rabindra Sangeet evening on Saturday. On the occasion of the 155th birth anniversary of Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore, Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre organised the event on its Gulshan premises in the city. Both of the singers rendered Tagore’s songs with the original tunes of Indian Classical Music which influenced Tagore to compose his songs. They mesmerised the audience with the rendition of songs like ‘Ananadadhara Bohiche Bhubone’, ‘Maharaj Eki Sajhe’, ‘Kar Milono Chao Birohi’, ‘Tumi Kon Kanoner Ful’, ‘Ghorete Bhromor Elo Gunguniye’, ‘Bhenge Mor Ghorer Chabi’, ‘Fule Fule Dhole Dhole’, ‘Kali Kali Bolo Re Aj’, ‘O Amar Desher Mati’ and others.
