Screening of 4 French films at AFD today, tomorrow

Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) and Renoir Film Club (RFC) have jointly organised the 112th edition of World Film Manifestation Programme (WFMP) to give film lovers an opportunity to watch classic films from different countries of the world on the big screen. This programme is being organised on a regular basis in collaboration with cultural centres of embassies of different countries in Dhaka. In this edition, four French animation films by filmmakers Bibo Bergeron, Sylvain Chomet, Jean-Loup Felicioli, and Alain Gagnol will be screened today and tomorrow at Auditorium Nouvelle Vague of Alliance Franaise de Dhaka, Dhanmondi in the city. A Monster in Paris- a 2011 French 3D computer-animated musical comedy fantasy adventure film directed by Bibo Bergeron, produced by Luc Besson will be screened today at 4pm at auditorium Nouvelle Vague of AFD, while Sylvain Chomets first feature film The Triplets of Belleville will be screened at 5:45pm at the same venue. Tomorrow, French animated adventure/crime film A Cat in Paris by the French animation studio Folimage, telling the story of a young Parisian girl whose cat leads her to unravel a thrilling mystery over the course of a single evening will be screened at 4pm and French-Scottish animated comedy-drama film The Illusionist directed by Sylvain Chomet will be screened at 5:45pm.The film The Illusionist is based on an unproduced script written by French mime, director and actor Jacques Tati in 1956.
