‘Those replicating Milk Vita packets, logo to face action’

State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Moshiur Rahman Ranga yesterday said the companies that are replicating the packets and logo of state-run cooperative dairy brand Milk Vita will face legal action, reports UNB.
Speaking at a press briefing at the Secretariat, he listed 12 companies involved in such malpractice and said their products will be sent to Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) in a day or two to check the quality.
The junior minister added that only one or two dairy companies other than Milk Vita have the bacteria-destro­ying equipment needed for pasteurising the milk before packaging. “Most of these replicated products have BSTI seals on their products, and we’ll look into that.”
Ranga urged all to check before buying and asked the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) director general about it and he has pledged a drive campaign soon.
Some of the companies replicating the brand are Aftab, Dhaka Prime, Real Milk, Ultra Milk, Pura Milk, Dairy Fresh and Pasturi Milk.
Officials said over two lakh liters of milk are distributed across the country from Milk Vita every day.
