Young Tigers U-16 to kick-off May 13

Young Tigers U-16 National Championship for the 2015-2016 season is scheduled to get underway at five different venues across the country from May 13.
A total of 10 teams including six divisions along with Dhaka Metro, Dhaka Division South, Dhaka Division North and Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP), splitting into two groups, will take part in the meet.
Reigning champions BKSP coupled with Chittagong Division, Dhaka Division North, Barisal Division and Sylhet have been slated in the Group-A, while runner-up Dhaka Metro, Dhaka Division South, Khulna Division, Rangpur Division and Rajshahi Division have been clubbed in the Group-B.
A total of four matches from two groups will be held on the opening day. In the Group-A matches, BKSP will face-off Sylhet Division at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium and Chittagong Division will take on Barisal Division at Womens Sports Complex in Rajshahi.
Dhaka Metro will compete against Rajshahi Division at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium (SKICS), while Dhaka Division South will fight against Rangpur Division at SKICS outer in Coxs Bazar in the Group-B encounters.
The 2-dayer competition of the group phase will be ended on May 25. Each group champion and runners-up will advance to the semi-finals to be held at two different venues in Coxs Bazar on May 29-30. Both winners of the semifinals will face-off in the final, which will be played at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Coxs Bazar on June 1-2.
In this regard, Kamrul Hasan, executive of BCB Game Development, said that they will select 42 more players through the competition in order to form the Bangladesh Under-17 national squad for the next campaign.
Well find out the best 42 more players through this competition. With the participation of these selected players, well then host a Challenge Series like U-18 and U-14 so that we could form Bangladesh U-17 National Cricket Team, said Kamrul Hasan.
