Senior journalist Madan Shahu died of respiratory complications at Birdem Hospital in the capital yesterday. He was 77.
The journalist left behind wife, two sons and a host of relatives, colleagues and well-wishers to mourn his death.
In the 60s, Shahu joined the then Pakistan Observer, which later became Bangladesh Observer, as a reader and worked there until 1991 as a senior news reader.
In 1991, he joined The Daily Star as an assistant editor and served there until 2014 as a supplement editor.
Shahu was also the advisory editor of weekly First News until his death.
