HSC examinee beaten dead in Khulna

An HSC examinee was beaten to death in the city’ s Khalishpur area on Thursday night, reports UNB from Khulna. The deceased was identified as Mahibullah, son of Tajibur Rahman of Platinum Kancha Colony area of the city. He was appearing at the Higher Secondary Examination from Haji Muhammad Mohsin College of the area. Amir Taimur Ali, officer-in-charge of Khalishpur Police Station, said a group of miscreants swooped on Mahibullah near the T&T office in Khalishpur around 10:30pm and beat him mercilessly with cricket bats and stumps, leaving him dead on the spot. Another young man, Rasel, was also injured in the attack, added the OC. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police also seized stumps and a bat from the spot.
