Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has re-fixed fare of long-route buses at Tk 1.42 per kilometer reducing it by three paisa across the country except Dhaka, its adjacent areas and Chittagong metropolitan cities, reports UNB. The new rate of fare will come into effect on May 15 next.The Road Transport and Highways Department issued a circular in this regard yesterday. Earlier, the BRTA proposed reduction of fare on long-route buses by 3 paisa per kilometer following petroleum price cut by the government.
