Manikganj: The bodies of two people, who had gone missing after capsize of a sand-laden trawler in the Padma River in Shibalaya upazila on Sunday, were recovered yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Kuddus Pramanik, 55, hailing from Char Tarapur village of Pabna Sadar upazila, and Rahiz Uddin, 50, of Tarapur village of the same village. Station officer of Manikganj fire station Mahmud Alam said the rescue team of Bangladesh navy, navy police and fire fighters recovered the floating body of Kuddus from the river near Paturia ghat in the morning while the body of Rahiz was recovered from the spot in the afternoon. Earlier, a sand-laden trawler capsized in the river near Paturia ghat in Shibalaya upazila as it hit the deck of the ghat during a nor’ wester on Sunday evening. Six workers, except Kuddus and Rahiz, managed to swim ashore after the boat capsized.
