Four more held

Four more suspects, including three Jaamat-Shibir activists, were arrested by police yesterday over the muder of Nikhil Chandra Joardar in Tangail.
DB police in Tangail arrested Goutam Rudra early yeaterday from Uttara area of the capital. Gulam Mahfuzur Rahman OC of Tangail DB police said that detainee Rudra is the ex-husband of Nikhil’s niece Swarna.
The others arrested are Jamaat leader Abu Bakar, 30, of village Patitapara, Shibir activists Idris Munshi, 23,of Matikata  in Bhuapur and Razzaque Promanik, 25, of Bhakutia in Bhuapur.  OC of Goplapur confirmed the arrests. With these four, the total number of arrestees in the case stands at 7.
Police said Rudra and Swarna got married before two years.  But the marriage was cut after a year. Rudra then threatened to kill Nikhil for his role in the divorce.  Police suspects Rudra’s role behind the killing and are questioning him since morning over the murders, said police.
