SUST teachers demand removal of VC

A group of teachers of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) staged a sit in programme on the campus yesterday demanding removal of Vice-chancellor Md Aminul Haque Bhuyan. They organsied the programme in front of the central library under the banner of Mohan Muktijudder Chetonay Udbudda Shikkhak Parishad on the campus. The sit-in programme started at 12:30 pm and continued till 2:00pm and ended the programme following a brief rally. Meanwhile, teachers announced to lay siege to VC's office on June 21 and resident on June 23 as part of their protest programme. Vice-chancellor Md Aminul Haque Bhuyan denied commenting on the resignation issue. But he said he would join the university on June 24.
