Four �professional killers� arrested
The anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four alleged professional killers along with pistols, ammunition and knives from Mirpur area in the capital early yesterday. Talking to The Independent, RAB Deputy Director Major Rumman Mahmud said, getting secret information, a team of RAB-4 raided in Mirpur area and arrested the four criminals who worked as hired killers across the country.
They were identified as Sheikh Akbar Ali, 36, Rana Sheikh, 23, Shohel Rana, 33 and Babul Hawlader, 45.
During the drive, they also recovered three foreign made pistols, 21 ammunitions, three knives and some magazines from the area. During the primary interrogation, they admitted that absconding accused Habib hired them to kill Purba Bangla Communist Partys military leader Shimul Biswas alias Mithu, also former chairman of Fultula Upazila chairman.
As part of their plan to kill him, they started to stay at a house at Rupnagar area in the capital from last fifteen days and were waiting for the opportunity for their killing mission, said Major Rumman. According to RAB officials, arrested Akbar is wanted in several murder cases including a double murder case with Khan Jahan Ali Police Station in Khulna. A case was filed in this connection.
