MSC maintain winning spree

Title aspirants Mohammedan Sporting continued their winning spree when they thrashed Sonali Bank by 7-1 in the Club Cup Hockey Tournament at Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium in the capital yesterday. Mohammedans took the game lightly  after taking a 6-0 lead before the short whistle.  Rubel Hossain opened the account for MSC in sixth minute with Russel Mahmud Jimmy doubling the lead four minutes later. Jimmy again found the net nine minutes latter. Deen Islam further increased the tally in the 24th minute before Rubel making it 5-0 in the 26th minute. Deen Islam got his second goal in 29th minute.  Quamruzzaman slammed home the only goal for Mohammedans in the second half. Ashit brought the lone goal for Sonali Bank converting a penalty corner in 62nd minute. Bangladesh Sporting Club dumped Wari Club 5-0 in the other match of the day.  Sohel and Belal scored two goals each, while Hossain Mobarak netted the other goal for Bangladesh Sporting.
