Three persons were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents at different places in Rangpur, Nilphamari and Chittagong districts yesterday, police sources said, reports agencies.
A truck driver was killed and four others were injured after two loaded trucks collided head-on at Bairagiganj point on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway under Mithapukur upazila this morning in the district.
The deceased truck driver has been indentified as Nawshad Ali, 27, of village Shantipur under Shahjadpur upazila in Sirajganj district.
In another incident, a cow trader was killed on the spot this noon when a passenger bus hit his bicycle at Hajir Bottola point on the Rangpur-Syedpur highway under Syedpur upazila in Nilphamari district.
The deceased has been identified as Abdus Samad, 55, of village Kuzipukur under Syedpur upazila in Nilphamari.
A local Juba Dal leader was killed as a covered van hit his motorcycle on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Sitakunda upazila headquarters yesterday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Salauddin Hossain, 40, vice-president of Sitakunda upazila Juba Dal and a resident of Muradpur village in the upazila.
