AIUB team to join int’l rover contest in USA
A team of undergraduate engineering students from American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) will attend the ‘International Rover Competition’ which is scheduled to be held in USA from June 2 to 4, says a press release.
Organised by the Mars Society, USA, the competition is hosted in Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS), Utah, USA and initially had 63 universities applying from all over the world (12 countries). AIUB is honoured to be among the final 30 teams who have been invited for the semifinal round.  AIUB along with other two universities will represent Bangladesh in this prestigious world-class competition among the top universities of the world. The team ‘AIUB Robotic Crew (ARC 71)’, led by Mahfuzur Rahman, consisting of 17 undergraduate engineering students of the university.
It was informed at a press conference was held at AIUB auditorium in the capital on Thursday. The programme was inaugurated by Dr ABM Siddique Hossain, dean, Faculty of Engineering. Director (Engineering) Abdur Rahman and Asst Professor Ebad Jahir highlighted on the overall projection of the rover competition.  
Notre Dame University celebrates 3rd anniv
Notre Dame University of Bangladesh organised a discussion on its premises to celebrate its 3rd founding anniversary on Wednesday, says a press release.
An orientation of the 6th batch of university students also was held.
Prof AK Azad Khan, president of Diabetic Association of Bangladesh and an important member of the university’s advisory panel, was the chief guest. At the beginning, Dr Azad Khan and the vice-chancellor of the university, Father Benjamin Costa, CSC, hoisted the national flag together while the national anthem was being sung.
The registrar of the university, Father S Pereira, CSC introduced the administrative officers and the university teachers to the new students. Md Wali Ullah, a teacher of the English Department, made a speech on behalf of the university teachers. Afterwards, a documentary on the past years of the university was presented. A cake was cut to celebrate the anniversary of the university. The chief guest also participated in the much awaited bulletin release of the university. The bulletin contained the details of the university activities that took place in the last three months. The Vice-Chancellor honoured the chief guest with a memorandum. Later, a cultural programme was held.
‘Internet4U’ held at South East University
An interactive session titled ‘Internet4U’ for the students of South East University under its Corporate Responsibility (CR) initiative was held recently. Mobile telecom operator Robi has organized the session. Around 120 students and faculty members joined in a discussion with the Robi officials on the rapid evolution of digital lifestyle in our society. The initiative attempts to introduce the college and university students across the country with ‘proper and safe’ use of internet as a tool for networking, learning and self- development.
