BFF renews contract with coach Kruif

Sports Reporter

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) renewed the contract of the head coach Lodewijk De Kruif and goalkeeping coach Christian Schweiler for almost one year. According to the new contract Kruif will join his duty from first week of August and  Schweiler will stay here will continue his job.
BFF president Kazi Mohammed Salahuddin along with the  national team committee member Tabith Awal had a long discussion with the coaches while they talked about renewing their contract apart from the matches national team played during last few months including the ongoing World Cup qualifying round.
However, Kruif, who worked with Bangladesh national team for last months on assignment basis after the first term contract with him (Kruif) ended last year.
Salahuddin after having the discussion with the coaches, detailed about their meeting to the reporters and explained the reason of renewing the contract with them.
“Our main discussion was about the WC Qualifying round matches, what were the good and bad sides. We discussed with coaches contract and both the coaches agreed to stay back,” said Salahuddin.
“They will work with us, we have some programme through the World Cup qualifying and we have Under-19 Asian Cup qualifying competition, SAFF Football, Bangabandhu Gold Cup. So we have the contract with them for about one year while they will do the total works.”
“Anyway, the goalkeeping coach will continue and Kruif will go back, as right now we have no national team’s assignment. He will come back in first week of August, because our league will resume from the next week, by this time he has no work, goalkeeping coach will work with clubs goalkeepers, young goalkeepers and some selected  goalkeepers.”
About the reason to reappoint him, BFF president said, “You wrote, Bangladesh now playing with different style, there have been some changes, playing complete passing and quality football.”
“Your also wrote that the team came to a format, we like to play complete passing football and it is question of maturity, most of the our players of this are Under-20, they are our future.”
“I want to keep the quality so I like to reappoint him,” said Salahuddin.
Replied to another query Salahuddin said, “As, ex-player, I can tell you, the team played well, the football was good quality, but for silly mistakes they conceded goals. If you asked quality, we definitely played a quality football.”
“Very simple target I have to win the SAFF, as SAFF president I want to hand over the trophy of SAFF to my team,” Salahuddin said about his target about the SAFF football to be held in December in India.
