Lucky Akhand returns home after treatment

Noted singer-composer-lyricist-music director Lucky Akhand, who has enthralled and mesmerised his adoring fans with his brilliant works, was diagnosed with lung cancer last year. After receiving treatment from a Bangkok Hospital, the singer returned to the country, as confirmed by his daughter Mum Minti on Tuesday.  After receiving chemotherapy for six months, his condition has somewhat improved and now he is recovering in his Purana Paltan home.
Mum Manti, daughter of Akhand, shared news of her father’s health condition, “My father is now doing much better. We will go back to Bangkok again in June. As per the doctor’s recommendations, he will have to go back there to begin the second phase of his treatment in Paithai Hospital.”
Lucky Akhand was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the capital on September 1, 2015 after his health started deteriorating and he was suffering from severe lung and liver ailments, and there the cancer was detected.  He was taken to Bangkok’s Paithai hospital in September last year where he underwent surgery. He returned to Bangladesh in October, but after his condition started deteriorating, he was taken back again to Bangkok in November. For his treatment, the Government of Bangladesh also stepped forward.
