RANGPUR: Jatiya Party Chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad here yesterday said there is no place for the opportunists in his party. “Some power-greedy people came to Jatiya Party and went back after getting no such ‘privileges’,” Ershad said at a courtesy meeting with leaders, workers and activists of city unit of Jatiya Matar Sramik Party at his ‘Palli Nibas’ residence in the city.
The former president called upon leaders and activists of Jatiya Party and its associateorganisations at the grassroots levels for becoming well organised and taking part in the nation-building and development activities.
“The grassroots level workers, activists and supporters are the lifeline of any political party. And a political party never becomes strong unless its grassroots level workers and activists are well organised,” Ershad, also Prime Minister’s special envoy, said.
He also directed the leaders and activists of Jatiya Matar Sramik Party for further strengthening their organisational activities with a view to strengthening their organisation as well as Jatiya Party.
President of district unit of Jatiya Matar Sramik Party Rabiul Islam Driver, its General Secretary Shahidul Islam Driver, Vice-presidents Daud Alim Mandal and Azizar Rahman, Organising Secretary Saidur Rahman Babu, Finance Secretary Anisur Rahman, attended the meeting, among others.
Convener of district unit of Jatiya Party and former lawmaker Mofazzal Hossain master, its Member-secretary Hussein Mokbul Shahriar Asif, Convener of city JP Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa, its member-secretary SM Yasser, were present.
