Landing Darboe celebrated twice, as Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club finally won a match in the AFC Club Cup football tournament when they defeated Tampines Rovers of Singapore by 3-2 yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Jamal, who conceded defeat in their last four matches but could have won at least one match as they were defeated by close range margin in every match.
However, on the day Jamal just grabbed the deserving win when they always led the match and kept domination  apart from the foreign trio Wedson, Emeka and Landing, local boys Jewel Rana, veteran Enamul Monayem Khan Raju and Tapu barman displayed very impressive performance.
Jamal who conceded a clear margin 4-0 defeat in their away match in Singapore, played a very disciplined game at home ground and also enjoyed better ball possession throughout 90 minutes.
Tampines drew the first blood and Jamal was a bit lucky not to concede an early goal when a back header of Mehmet was saved by goalkeeper Mazharul Islam Himel just at the last moment at the cost of corner.
Surviving from an early scare, Jamal fabricated a beautiful attack down the right side and Jewel made a pin-pointed cross, which found Wedson at the perfect position but his header denied by the cross piece.
But the ball returned to play and Emeka got the possession and provided a low cross to Landing Darboe who marked the target from a close range  on 20th minute (1-0).
Inspired by Landing’s strike Jamal overpowered the visitors and Emeka and Wedson with a super combination went closer to double the advantage but a powerful effort Haitian forward narrowly missed the side post on 34th minute.
Tampines bounced back to level the margin on 45th minute when Mustafiz headed home a Jermaine Pennat corner (1-1).
Jamal, who were demonstrating tremendous game started the second half afresh and restored the lead on 55th minute with Emeka Darlington converting a penalty and this time Tampines Rovers’ defender made a bad tackle to Wedson on his way to post and referee Yaqoob Abdullah of Oman directed for spot kick (2-1).
But Tampines Rovers, who were fighting for the group top spot again equlaised the margin and this time was an odd goal when a long range shot of substitute Shamdan just slipped out from  goalkeeper Himel’s gloves and a closely waiting Billy Mehmet just pushed the ball into net (2-2).
This time it looked that Jamal was going to concede another unfortunate result as, the visitors put the host into immense pressure and also threatened for twice.
Jamal, who was very much ill fated not to win any match despite going very closer, specially against the Selengor of Malaysia in home and away, and also Seres La Salle of Philippines, but this time fortune favoured the brave when another combination of Jewel Rana-Wedson and Darboe made a superb finish.
Jewel Rana after receiving a ball from counter attack dribbled past his marker before to provided the ball for unmarked Wedson and the captain also just released the ball onrushing Landing Darboe, superbly placed the ball left hand side to goalkeeper (3-2).
