Noted journalist Mahfuzul Haque Khan passed away in a hospital in the capital yesterday morning. He was 70, reports UNB.
Mahfuz, who was news editor of now defunct the daily Bangladesh Observer and temporary teacher of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University, breathed his last at around 11:45 in the morning.
He left behind wife, son, daughter and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
Mahfuzul will be buried at Mirpur Intellectual Graveyard upon completion of his namaz-e-janaza at Bibi Mosque at F block of Lalmatia after Asr prayer.
In a message of condolence, Jatiya Press Club President Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and General Secretary Qamrul Islam Chowdhury, expressed profound shock at the death of Mahfuzul Haque Khan saying, “The nation lost a noted journalist and a true unionist with death of Mahfuzul Haque Khan.”
They prayed for salvation of his departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
