One held with 12 gold bars at airport

Customs intelligence yesterday arrested a passenger returning from Dubai with 12 gold bars, weighing 1.5 kilogram, at Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.
“We arrested one Shahadat Mia and seized 12 gold bars from his possession from the belt area for inspection of the airport this noon,” assistant director of customs intelligence Tareq Mahmud told BSS.
“The gold bars,10 tola each, was concealed deep inside the battery of two charger lights,” he also said, adding that estimated cost of the seized gold is Tk 80 lakh. He came from Dubai by FZ583 at 12 this noon. A legal action is underway.
