Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) early yesterday detained two covered vans laden with huge fans worth about Tk2 crore, which was carrying to sell in open market violating bond facilities from Fauzdarhat area in the city.
CIID assistant director, Uttam Biswas said, “A company named Golden Son imported the raw materials of the fans under bond facilities. After processing it was supposed to export but the company was carrying the fans with a view to selling in open market. The estimated price of the fans was about Tk 2 crore.”
“Acting on tip-off we have detained the two covered vans laden with the fans. Legal action will be taken against the errant company,” added Uttam Biswas.
