Robbers kill youth

A youth was hacked to death and three others were injured in an attack by robbers at Pirojpur village in Kaliganj upazila of Satkhira early yesterday. The deceased was Saddam Hossain, 26, of Pirojpur village.
Bablu Gazi, a victim, said robbers swooped on the house of Saddam’s father-in-law Abdul Bari to commit robbery. He said hearing hue and cry villagers rushed the house and as they tried to resist them the robbers stabbed Saddam, Bari’s son Ashraf Hossen, Bari’s wife Momena Khatun, and him. Saddam dead on the spot, Gazi said adding the robbers quickly left the place after the incident.
The injured persons have admitted into Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
