FARIDPUR: Fifteen dwelling houses along with all belongings were gutted when a devastating fire broke out on Saturday in village Kumarkanda under Laskardia union of Nagarkanda upazila of the district, reports BSS. According to Fire Services sources, the fire originated from the kitchen of one Hossain Ali Mridha in the afternoon and soon engulfed the neighboring houses destroying all the kutchcha and tin-shed dwelling houses. Being informed, one unit of fire fighters from Faridpur Fire station rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The affected house owners claimed that the fire damaged property worth about Taka twenty lakhs. But the Officer-in-Charge of Nagarkanda police station said that the loss is yet to be ascertained.
