Nasim urges the rich to help treatment for autism

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim yesterday urged the affluent people in the society to come forward along with the government to reach health-care facilities for autism treatment, reports BSS.
"Well-off people of the society should come forward to help the government to reach health facilities to autistic people ... they (the Rich) can also build hospitals for the children with autism as they are establishing garments factories, hotels and other industries."  He was speaking as chief guest at a roundtable meeting held on 19 April with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan in the chair at Milton Hall in the capital. Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA) under BSMMU organised the event to mark the 9th World Autism Awareness Day observed countrywide on April 2.
Speaker of the discussion emphasized on creating a congenial atmosphere for autistic children in families and schools to help ensure their equal participation in society.
"The physically-challenged people will have to be groomed through more affection and love by other people as they are integral part of our society," said Professor Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan. "All sectors have to work together in this regard," said Dr Shaheen Akhter, Project Director of the Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA) in BSMMU.
