The Institute of Paediatric Neurodisoder and Autism (IPNA) in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University organized a cultural event in order to celebrate the 9th World Autism Awareness Day on 17 April, 2016.
Minister of Cultural Affairs Mr. Asaduzzaman Noor, MP was the chief guest at the event along with Syed Monjurul Islam, secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as the special guest. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan, vice-chancellor of BSMMU.
Among other guests of honour included Prof. Dr. Iqbal Arslan, general secretary, BMA, Prof. Dr. Shaheen Akhter, project director, IPNA, Mr. JOE Hyun-gue, country director, Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), renowned actor & director Mr. Shankar Shaojal, singer Bappa Mojumdar and writer Anisul Haque.
At the event Mr. Noor said in his speech that there is a growing need to create awareness among mass so that they can carry out their duties as guardians of all children including the children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
The event ended with a cultural programme including music, drama and dance from the children with autism and neurodisorders.
