Marcel Club Cup Hockey from today

The domestic hockey season will kick off from today with the Marcel Club Cup Hockey tournament at the Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium.
In the opening match, Mohammedan Sporting Club will take on Sonali Bank at 2:45 pm while Abahani Limited will face Wari Club in the day’s second match at 4pm.
A total of nine teams will participate in the tournament splitting into two groups with top two from each group will qualify for the semifinal.
Usha Krira Chakra, Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club, Shadharan Bima and Ajax Sporting Club comprised in the Group A, while Abahani Limited, Mohammedan Sporting Club, Sonali Bank, Bangladesh SC and Wari Club comprised in the Group B.    
ATN Bangla, the private television channel will telecast live the opening ceremony and the opening match while they will telecast the final match also.
The champions of the tournament will receive Taka 70,000 and the runners up will get Taka 35,000 while the best player and the highest scorers will also be awarded.
