Bachao Football Panel formally announced their 14-point election manifesto ahead of the upcoming Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) election-2016, which is scheduled to take place in April 30.
Capt. (rtd) Mahbubul Matin, member of election organising committee of Bachao Football panel, read out the election pledges at the full panel introduction and manifesto declaration programme at the Westin Dhaka Hotel yesterday.
Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan introduced the panel members before the media one by one following a special session of some veteran sports organisers including Jakaira Pintu, Mozaffar Hossain Poltu.
The manifesto focuses on division, district and school-level tournaments for the improvement of the country’s football.
Bachao Football Panel president hopeful Kamrul Asraf Khan pledged to modernise the coaches’ education at the grassroots level and the professional level. Alongwith that, they will take necessary steps to bring back the past glory of country’s football through reviving the popular tournaments of Sher-e-Bangla and Suhrawardi Cup.
Discussing with the authorities they will take initiatives to resume the players’ quota in college and University.
The panel will take measures to restart the basic training on football for age-level players including Under-8 and Under-10 at district level. Apart from that, they will re-launch JFA Cup for Under-14.
The panel will also take steps to organise women’s football league on regular basis and produce more women’s footballers for the national level through women’s football academy if they win the election.
Citing the names of Kaiser Hamid, Badal Roy, Kamul Asraf said that they will host talent hunt programme with the help of coaches to sort out potential young players across the country to strengthen the pipeline of the footballers.
Apart from that, they will recruit a total of 100 players including fifty for Under-16 and fifty for Under-19 and nurture them at BKSP to make them the most potential players within four years.
About the development of Dhaka-based clubs, the BFF president hopeful said that they will provide necessary pecuniary assistance to all the clubs to establish gymnasium at clubs’ dormitory.
When asked about BFF Senior Vice-President Abdus Salam Murshedy, who has already been elected uncontested, Manzur Kader said that they have done it from a strategic point of view.
