52 Khulna women honoured with �Joyeeta award�

A total of 52 successful women were accorded reception’ under 5  categories from 10  districts under Khulna division yesterday at the conference room of CSS Ava center in the city.
Out of 52 ‘Joyeeta’ s 5  were selected as best ‘Joyeeta’ in divisional level and 6 (six) were accorded as runners up ‘Joyeeta’.
The Khulna Divisional Administration organised the function in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and the Directorate of Women Affairs.
These women were awarded the title ‘Joyeeta’ by the government. Joyeeta Onneshone Bangladesh--a government initiative introduced in 2011—has had a tremendous impact on the society on women empowerment issue. Grassroots women have responded well to the initiative, showing a positive indicator of women’s empowerment, said speakers at the programme. Each of the awardees received Tk 2,000, a crest, scarf and a certificate in recognition of their achievements.
Among the award recipients, Latifa Showkat Rupa of Premchara Bandobila village under Bagharpara upazila of Jessore district received the award under economic success category, Anowara Khatun of Jamira village under Fultala upazila of Khulna in education and employment, Mrs Rashida Begum of Roypur village under Bagharpara of Jessore as successful mother, Raziya Begum of Borobasbaria village under Bagerhat sadar upazila of Bagerhat in prevention of repression and Advocate Aloka Nanda Das of 259, Tutpara in Khulna city in social development, awarded as best ‘Joyeeta’ at the divisional level.
