Protests pour in on campuses

Teachers and students of Barisal University( BU) and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) staged demonstration and formed a human chain on their respective campuses protesting the killing of RU teacher AFM Rezaul Karim Siddiquee.
Our Staff reporter adds from Barisal: At Barisal University English department organised a protest programme where head of the department Prof Tanvir Kaisar presided over. It was addressed among others by Prof Md Mohshin, President of BU Teachers Association Arif Hosen, Sanjay  Sarkar, Ariful Haque and Md Syuful Islam.
Speakers of the meeting demanded immediate arrest of the killers and said they will go tougher movement in future. They also demanded guarantee of natural death in the campus.
 At SUST, teachers of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) yesterday also organised a rally and human chain on the campus for the same.  
Shahjalal University Teachers’Association(SUTA) organised the protest programme.
They formed the human chain in front of Central Library at around 11am and later a rally also organised at teh same place where over one hundred teachers were attend.  Speakers at the rally protested the murder and demanded the immediate arrest and punishment of those culprits.  They said, such kind of crimes would happen again and again because the culprits, those are involved, not get proper punishment. And lack of immediate steps of authority concerned.
President of the association Professor Syed Shamsul Alam, General secretary Mohibul Alam, Professor Kamal Ahmed Chowdhury, Professor Aktarul Islam Chowdhury, Professor Muhammad Yunus, Professor Mastubur Rahman, Professor Ati Ullah and Associate Professor Faruque Uddin spoke among other at the rally.  A teacher of Rajshahi University (RU) was hacked to death by unidentified assailants in Rajshahi city on Saturday morning.
