Suspended constable among 4 held with yaba

Police arrested four alleged drug peddlers, including a suspended constable of detective branch of police, from Brojo Mohun (BM) College hostel in the city on Saturday afternoon.
The arrested were as Sumon, a suspended constable of detective branch of Barisal metropolitan police, Mazharul Islam, Mahmudur Rahman, Nurul Islam, students of the college, said Shakhawat Hossain, Kotwali police station officer-in-charge.
Sub Inspector Pabitra said police during the drive also recovered 50 yaba tablets from their procession. A case under narcotics control act was lodged and later the arrestees were sent to jail on Saturday evening.
Abu Sayeed, assistant commissioner of BMP, said DB police constable Sumon, who was as accused of drug peddling, was suspended.
