The 5-day 3'd China South Asia Expo, which is conjunction with the 23'd Kunming Import and Export Fair, was successfully hosted in Kunming from June 12 to 16.

So far, the Expo has become a large scale international one which has yielded fruitful results. Also,  it has served as a platform where mutually beneficial multilateral diplomacy, economic cooperation and cross cultural communication can be conducted between China and countries in  South Asia & Southeast Asia and even countries around the world, giving a strong pull to the current construction of the Belt and Road Initiative pro posed by China.

Altogether, 3179 companies and enterprises from 75 countries and regions participate in the Expo, with a total of over 20,000 exhibitors and 100,000 professional buyers. More than half of the 6,150 booths were taken by foreign exhibitors, and the booth total this year has doubled compared with that last year. 25 companies listed in World Fortune such as BMW, Standard Charter were at present. And it is also the first time that all 8 South Asian countries and all 10 A SEAN member states took part in the Expo.

The "Investing in Yunnan" seminars were held during the Expo, and it is the first time that such seminars appear in the sessions of the Expo. Over 400 domestic and foreign merchants participated in the seminars, involving merchants from United States, Russia, Norway, Germany, the Nether lands, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, France, Spain and other countries. World Fortune companies such as Wal-Mart, Starbucks, Bayer and Toyota all showed great interest in the  seminars, and sent representatives to the seminars, to learn more about the resources, geo graphical location, transportation and preferential policies on investing in Yunnan.
