House robbed in Sylhet

SYLHET: Robbers looted valuables worth Tk 30 lakh from a house at Akhalia Surma Residential area in the city early Thursday, reports UNB. Quoting house inmates, police said a gang of robbers, numbering eight, stormed the house of Dr Shafiul Azam, a physician, and kept the house inmates hostage at gunpoint by tying them up inside a room around 3 am.
Later, the robbers looted valuables worth Tk 30 lakh, including 25
tolas of gold ornaments, Tk5 lakh cash, eight mobile phone sets and two laptops from the house and decamped with the booty.
Sohel Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said police are trying to arrest the robbers.
