Rape accused held in Ctg

Laxmipur: Police arrested the accused in a case for raping a schoolgirl in Laxmipur from Eidgah Bou Bazar area in Chittagong district early yesterday, reports UNB.
Tipped off, a team of police from Laxmipur and Chittagong conducted a drive in the area and arrested Jamal Uddin, joint convener of the Charshahi union unit of Juba League in Sadar upazila, said Ganesh Chandra Shill, in-charge of Daserhat police camp. After primary interrogation, Jamal admitted his involvement in the incident, said police. On April 16, Jamal violated the schoolgirl after tricking her into getting into his house at Daserhat village.
