54 held in Satkhira

Police arrested 54 people, including 30 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its front organisation Islami Chhatra Shibir, from different parts of the district during a drive continuing for 24 hours till yesterday morning on charges of subversive activities.
Police Superintendent of Satkhira Chowdhury Manjurul Kabir said they conducted the drive from Tuesday evening till 8:30am yesterday and arrested them.
All the arrestees are accused in different cases filed for subversive activities, he added.
