Korean Ambassador in Dhaka Ahn Seong-Doo yesterday inaugurated the Saemaul Communities Centre in Nalka Union of Raiganj Upazila of Sirajganj district, reports UNB.
Inaugurating the Centre, the Korean Ambassador said the newly established Saemaul Centre will facilitate the rural development through community decision making and community resources mobilisation in favour of local community development by communities own people with a confidence and spirit of their own strength that they can bring any positive change if they really want to do.
The Saemaul Communities Centre has been established with financial support from Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Grant Aid Agency of Korean government, in collaboration with UN WFP and Partner Organisation GNB under the ‘Saemaul Zero Hunger Communities Project’, said a press release.
More than two third of the population of Bangladesh is living in rural areas and the overall development of Bangladesh is mostly impacted by the development of the rural communities.
