Robotics competition begins today at RUET
RAJSHAHI: A two-day inter-university robotics competition will begin at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) from today.
The Department of Mechatronics Engineering (MTE) of RUET and Robotic Society of RUET (RSR) are going to organize the Inter University ROBOTECH FEST- 2016 for the very first time. This event will make a platform for the enthusiasts of Robotics, Electronics, Programming and Mechanics. Besides, officials from renowned companies will enlighten the event. The event will consist of six individual segments - informatics Olympiad, idea contest, hardware project show, software exhibition, mechanics Olympiad and ROBORUN. RUET Vice-chancellor Prof Rafiqul Alam Begum is likely to inaugurate the event tomorrow morning as the chief guest, a press release said here yesterday. More than 100 participants from eight public universities across the country are scheduled to join the event in three categories.
Graduation day held at BSMRAU
GAZIPUR: The graduation day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) for the students of Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) programme 8th batch, Bachelor of Science (Fisheries) programme 4th batch and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Animal Science (DVM) 1st batch was held yesterday at the university Begum Sufia Kamal auditorium.
Md Mahbubar Rahman, vice-chancellor of the university, congratulated the newly graduate students and formally announced the result of BS (Agriculture), BS (Fisheries) and DVM, says a press release. He also distributed a memento of the university and provisional certificate to the graduate students. Earlier, Qazi Abdul Khaliq, dean Faculty of Agriculture, Md Zahangir Alam, dean Faculty of Fisheries and Md Morshedur Rahman, dean, faculty of Veterinary Medicine Animal Science formally handed over the results of BS (Agril.), BS (Fish.) and DVM to the vice-chancellor respectively. A total of 79 students of BS (Agriculture), 25 students of BS (Fisheries) and 18 students of DVM were conferred with their degree on the graduation ceremony. The graduation day started with a colorful procession with the participants of graduate students and faculty members of the university.
Maritime University holds council meeting
The 8th academic council meeting of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University was held on the universitys temporary campus at Pallabi in the capital on Tuesday, says a press release. The meeting was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor Rear Admiral ASM Abdul Baten. Various development matters of the university were discussed in the meeting. Mentionable are -- upgradation of BMS programme of Bangladesh Marine Academy and signing of MoU with Indian Maritime University and other Institutions. Members of academic council expressed their deep satisfaction with the progress of academic activities of the university and manifested their hope that the university would really become the center of excellence in maritime education.
