The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railway Ministry yesterday recommended introducing double-decker coaches for train passengers from Gazipur to Narayanganj, reports BSS.
The recommendation was made at the 22nd meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with committee chairman ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury in the chair, said an official release. Committee members; Railways Minister M Mujibul Haq, M Moslem Uddin, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Mohammad Noman, Yasin Ali and Fatema Johra Rani attended the meeting. The meeting suggested undertaking a plan to set up a separate railway university in the country in the form of the railway university in India.
It also suggested simplifying immigration system for Moitree Train plying between Bangladesh and India. Besides, the meeting had discussions on setting up CNG stations on unused lands, using the recovered land at Matijharna in Chittagong and ICD construction project at Sridham in Gazipur. Senior officials concerned were present at the meeting.
Another reports adds:The 10th meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on health was held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here with committee Chairman Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim presiding.
Professor ABM Faruk of Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of Dhaka University presented a report on 'Develop drug industry and stop producing fake Medicines'.
The meeting discussed introduction of 'Truck and Trace' system, said a press release.
The meeting recommended for not giving license to a pharmaceutical company which is not the member of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI) and without the approval of the association.
The meeting suggested the authorities to punish the fake drug manufacturers and dealers. Members of the committee Health Minister Mohammad Nasim, State Minister Zahid Malik, Professor AFM Ruhal Huq, M Yunus Ali Sarkar and Selina Begum were present, among others.
