23 Jamaat, Shibir men held

Police arrested 23 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from different areas of the city on Tuesday night, reports BSS.
Additional deputy police commissioner of KMP Moniruzzaman Mithu said based on secret information, police conducted drives in different areas and arrested the Jamaat-Shibir men on charge of subversive activities.
The arrestees are - Khulna city unit president Haider Ali, Jamaat leader Rokon Enamul Haque, No-31 ward city unit president and secretary Lokman, 52, and Rashed, Daulatpur thana unit Shura member Abdul Khaleque, No-19 ward president Abdullah and No-16 ward secretary Kamrul.
