AL panel to probe poll �nomination irregularities�
The ruling Awami League (AL) is going to form a committee comprising its central leaders within this month to investigate irregularities in the nomination process of the ongoing Union Parishad polls, being held in six phases since Mar 22. We often hear that in UP elections, candidates are being selected in exchange for money and some of our party leaders are involved in the irregularities. We will form a committee to find out the anomalies in the nomination process of UP polls. If the allegations are proved against anyone, he/she will have to face the charges, AL Presidium Member Obaidul Quader, also Road, Transport and Bridges Minister, said at a programme in the capital yesterday.
