Man held for raping girl

Panchagarh: Police arrested a man from Nayekpara area of Sadar upazila on Sunday for violating a mentally challenged teenage girl, reports UNB.
The arrestee was identified as Kaimul Islam, 55, son of Banamuddin, resident of the area. Mohseul Goni, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Sadar Police Station, said Kaimul Islam allegedly raped the mentally challenged girl at her house on Sunday night when her parents were out. Later victim’s father Md Rahim Uddin filed a case against Kaimul in this connection.
A team of police led by sub-inspector Shahin conducted a drive in Singroad Khalpar area around 11:30pm and arrested the accused, added the OC.
