Youth shot to death

Noakhali: A young man was shot dead by some criminals near Bashurhat Bazar area in Companyganj upazila of the district on Sunday night, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Saker, 25, resident of Sirajpur Chhaya-bhiti area of the upazila.
Sajedul Islam Sajid, officer-in-charge of Companyganj police station, said locals rescued Saker with bullet injuries near a road in the area around 11am and  admitted him to the upazila health complex. As his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to Noakhali General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
His family members said criminals picked him up from the Bashurhat Bazar at night. They tortured him and shot him in the knees.
