Elita Kingsley struck five goals as Team BJMC thrashed Soccer Club Feni by 6-0 in the KFC Independence Cup football tournament at Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday.
In the goal galore victory, Elita Kingsley scored the fourth hat-trick in the ongoing tournament as Wedson of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club slammed the first one, Fikru Taferra of Sheikh Russel struck the second and Ismail Bangura scored the third one for Mohammedan Sporting Club in their stunning 5-1 victory over title contenders Chittagong Abahani.
On the day, though the match for both teams BJMC and Soccer Club was an academic formality as both the sides have already been eliminated from the race and it was their last match.
BJMC, who in fact fought in almost every match, apart from their 5-0 defeat against Abahani Limited, could win only the match against Soccer Club and finished the competition with four points.
Soccer Club, the defending runners-up of the Independence Cup, Soccer Club conceded only two defeats out of five encounters when they also contested every match, as they went down to Rahmatganj by 2-3, drew with Arambagh by 1-1 and also halted the title aspirants Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra by 0-0.
However, the official sides BJMC, who had to struggle much to form the team, ultimately enabled to field a challenging team though they proved it in their last match of the Independence Cup with a comfortable victory.
The match was going on with both sides enjoying the ball possession almost evenly up to 35 minutes but Eleta Kingsley after opening the scoring on 36th minute, it looked the flood gate have opened as the Nigerian scored five goals in a row.
Kingsley, who actually scored all five goals almost with his solo efforts, was assisted in the first one by his compatriot Samson Iliasu when he (Iliasu) crossed the ball inside the danger area on 36th minute.
Elita, who is also the captain of BJMC scored the second just two minutes later and completed the hat-trick on 45th minute.
Elita kept his momentum and scored two more goals with striking the fourth on 50th and completed his rout on 73rd while Samson Iliasu after wasting two good chances added one on 87th minute.
