One held for raping minor girl

Police arrested a youth on charges of violating a minor girl in Khilgaon thana area in the capital early yesterday.
The arrestee was Rubel alias Dibba Rubel, 35, son of Abdul Barek, police said.
“Rubel with the help of two others raped the 11-year-old girl in their rented house in Pashchim Nandipara area under Khilgaon Police Station in sometime between 10am and 11am on Sunday,” sub-inspector Zahidur Rahman told BSS.
“Her rickshaw-puller father and domestic help mother were working outside at the time of the incident,” he said, adding that they arrested the youth from Khilgaon area early yesterday.
The victim is now undergoing treatment at One Stop Crisis Centre of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Police are now on hot pursuit to capture the two other criminals who helped Rubel to do the heinous act, he also said.
Father of the victim filed a case with Khilgaon Police Station to this end.
