CHITTAGONG: Directorate of Environment (DOE) in Chittagong unearthed a banned polythene manufacturing factory after conducting a raid in Pahartali hilly area of Uttar Kattoli in the city on Sunday noon, reports BSS.
A total of 1,324 kilograms of banned polythene, huge raw materials and two Polythene making machines and other machineries worth about Taka 10 lakh were seized from the factory.None of the owners or employees was present during the drive. The DOE officials locked the factory. On receipt of information that the owner of the factory has been producing and marketing secretly the prohibited products for the last 10 months secretly, Azadur Rahman Mollik, director of DOE Chittagong conducted the drive along with high other officials of DOE.
