Man �kills� wife in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI: A man has allegedly killed his wife following a trifling matter in Baya Bholabari area under Shahmukhdum Police Station in the city yesterday, police and locals said, reports BSS.
The deceased was identified as Safiya Begum, 25, wife of Aynal Haque. Another neighbour woman was also injured in the similar attack while she was trying to resist him. She was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Police nabbed the alleged killer from the place of occurrence.
Quoting the preliminary investigation report Sheikh Golam Mostofa, officer-in-charge of the police station, told the local journalists that a quarrel has been ensued between the couple over a tiny family issue. At one stage of the altercation, the husband chopped his wife indiscriminately and finally slaughtered her to death.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for post mortem.
A case was recorded with the police station in this connection. Police arrested the husband, he added.
