AL leader shot

A local Awami League leader suffered bullet injuries in an attack by miscreants at Mirzaganj village in Mirzaganj upazila early yesterday.
The injured is Gazi Mohammad Selim, 40, president of ward no 7 unit AL of Mirzaganj union.
Officer-in-charge of Mirzaganj Police Station Mizanur Rahman said a group of criminals numbering 5/6 entered the house of Selim breaking open the door at about 2:30am.
Later, the attackers loot six tolas of gold ornaments and cash Tk55,000 and opened fire at Selim, leaving him injured.
Injured Selim was rushed to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital.
