9 �inter-district robbers� held in Mymensingh
They are accused in robbery, lifting cases with different police stations

Police arrested nine alleged robbers of an inter-district gang from Gazipur area on Mymensingh-Kishoreganj road in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district early yesterday.
The arrestees are Dipu Miah, 20, Babon Miah, 21, Al Amin, 22, Salah Uddin, 24, Sujon Miah, 28, Asadul Islam, 25, Babul Hossain, 20, Rafiqul Islam, 20 and Rubel Miah, 21. All of them are from Shambhuganj area in Mymensingh Sadar upazila, police sources said.
The gang was preparing to commit robbery in Gazipur area on the road around 4am and sensing the incident, local people informed police, said Md Akhtar Morshed, officer-in-charge of Gouripur Police Station.
On information, a police team rushed to the spot and challenged the gang, said the OC.When the gang members tried to flee the scene, the police team chased them and arrested the nine.
Md Selim, another gang member managed to flee the scene with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in which they reached the spot, police sources added.
Police also recovered a motor bike from the spot.
In police interrogation, the arrestees confessed that they are active members of inter-district robbers gang and they lifted the seized motor-bike from the house of one Shahjahan Mondol of Toll Plaza area in Mymensingh Sadar upazila, the OC informed.
They are also accused in robbery and lifting cases filed with different police stations of the district, added the OC.
Police is trying to seize the CNG-run auto-rickshaw and arrest the escaped person to reveal the total gang, the OC said.
